Ryan Faas is a Jazz Pianist, Composer, Music Teacher, and Accompanist living in Langley, British Columbia, Canada.
He works professionally providing musical services to the Langley and Greater Vancouver Area.As a performer he is available for hire for numerous different events including weddings, dinner parties, business functions, etc. He performs as a solo piano performer or as part of a group depending on requests and circumstances.
As a composer he is always interested in taking on a new project whether for film, tv, live performance or any situation that would call for an original composition.
He obtained honors in a Bachelor's of Music degree, focusing on jazz piano, from the University of Alberta; Augustana Faculty in 2006. Prior to University he lived in Calgary, Alberta where he completed his Grade 8 RCM exam before being called over to jazz piano. Upon doing so he studied with Sheldon Zandboer at Mount Royal College in Calgary.
During his post secondary jazz training he studied for 2 years with prominent Edmonton jazz pianist Chris Andrew, and then another two years with Rob Thompson, also an Edmonton jazz pianist.
He has also had the opportunity to study under Sandro Dominelli, Rubim de T'ledo, Mike Lent, David Wall and Joel Gray, other prominent Canadian jazz musicians and composers. |
